An important part of growing up is the experience of working. Teen employment teaches work skills, provides valuable mentorship, and introduces youth to possible careers. Yet openings for teens, including in the summer when they are most needed, are scarce. Why are teen jobs and rewarding volunteer positions harder to find than in previous generations?
